Summary: In the first couple of chapters, the main character ​talks about the adventures and activities he would have with his childhood friend Hassan. He also says that whenever him and his friend Hassan would get in trouble Hassan's dad would give them the riot act for doing something stupid and Hassan would always rat on himself and say that he planned whatever they were doing so that it was his fault.
Reaction: My reaction honestly is that I think this book is pretty boring so far but maybe I'll change my opinion later on.

Summary: In chapter 9, Amir's guilt is getting the better of him. He wants Hassan to be gone so he wouldn't have so much weight on his shoulders. He decides to sneak his birthday money and the watch that Baba gave him for his birthday under Hassan's mattress in Ali and Hassan's living quarters. Once Ali and Hassan find out about this they decide to leave the presence of Baba and Amir. Baba doesn't want them to leave forever however because Baba thinks of Ali as "the brother he never had."
Reaction: I think that Hassan will want to come back someday and Amir will probably confess his lie.

Reaction: I don't think Baba will want to get rid of Ali and Hassan because they've been almost like family for a long time.

Summary: Amir wants the punishment that he thinks he deserves. So Amir throws a pomegranate at Hassan hoping that he would throw it right back at him. But instead Hassan doesn't fight back, he squashes a pomegranate against his own forehead and asks Amir if he's satisfied.
Reaction: I think that Amir is taking the whole thing in the wrong direction but I think the guilt will get the better of him.
